CONDUCT OF ELECTION. The election of city officials shall be conducted in all respects as provided by the laws of Kansas governing the holding of city elections. (K.S.A. 25-2101 et seq.; Code 2007)

 

HOURS OF VOTING. At all city elections the polls shall be open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m., unless different hours are set and publicly announced by the county election officer. (K.S.A. 25-2111, 26-206; Code 2007)

 

COMMENCEMENT OF TERMS OF OFFICE; OATH OF OFFICE. (a) The

term of office for newly elected city officials shall commence with and include the first regular meeting of the governing body following certification of the election by the county election officer.

(b) Every person elected or appointed to city office, before entering upon the duties of such office, shall take and subscribe an oath or affirmation as specified in

K.S.A. 54-106, and amendments thereto, and every such oath or affirmation shall be filed with the city clerk.
